February 13-24: Gridded Self-Portraits
Long Term Assignment:
1) Using ruler, draw grid on computer printout of face digital photograph small paper, each square is 1" x 1" (8"x10" paper)
2) Grid corresponding large paper, 2" x 2" each square (16"x20" paper)
3) Draw self-portraits, drawing square by square
1:2 scale ratio
Use shading to draw series of light and dark values
4) Brainstorm your background, then draw it out.
Background may be realistic, geometric, or self-expressionistic
5) Draw your background
6) Use any of these mediums or a variety of them to finish your work of art:
Pencil
Charcoal
Chalk pastels
Oil Pastels
Watercolor paint
Tempera paint
Acrylic paint
Mixed Media (examples: ribbon, wallpaper, buttons, etc)
